DARK SKIES BETA - November, 2004

Vegas Artists, LLC. test runs the concept of a desert outing dubbed Dark Skies at Camp Site X, a classified former military base used to test the effects of LSD on soliders. The results were promising - the Dark Skies, not the LSD test. Though a Wookie did say the LSD tests were promising as well, but he melted before he could give any more information.

DARK SKIES - May 20 - 22, 2005

After BLM moving the event due to an infestation of desert tortoises & concerns of climbing power towers, Roach Lake was decided as the site for Dark Skies. People came, people had a great time (despite the heat wave), and it was decided to be an all around good idea... so we did it again.

DARK SKIES - October 21-23, 2005

We're getting better at doing this herding cats thing. Now at home on Roach Lake the only problem was the flooding of the lake bed a few days before the event starting. The site was moved to the shores of the lake (dubbed 'Alpha Site') and 'Atlantis' as the city underwater came to be known was not missed.

SINGULARITY - May 11 - 14, 2006

The first multi-regional event went off spectaularly & generated a lot of buzz about what we were doing in the desert. We had seven states and two countries represented at the event. Despite a few issues with BLM, everyone had a great time.

Important safty tip kiddies - when someone suggests doing an event three weeks after a much larger, more more well funded (read: more potties) event... especially if said people are going to that event... just say NO! But the event was great, if not a bit controversial. Even though there were less people - we still had a dozen theme camps and several art cars on our playa.
